*We’re making two endorsements in this district which elects three delegates.
As a public health advocate, Emily Shetty is especially passionate about clean air, clean water and investing in reliable public transportation. She recognizes that “[u]rban communities like many areas of Montgomery County, including District 18, play a large role in reducing their impact on climate change.” One of her proposals for “improving resiliency and adaptation to climate change in our urban settings” is for Maryland to “offer incentives to local urban areas” for “increasing vegetative cover on new and existing buildings, along with other green infrastructure.”
If elected, she would also support a variety of environmentally friendly policy issues currently under consideration in the House of Delegates, including “limiting the use of antibiotics for non-therapeutic purposes in livestock.”
Emily has been endorsed by the Maryland chapter of the Sierra Club.
Why so few candidates in Maryland? There were some great candidates we endorsed in the Maryland primaries who unfortunately lost their races. And, we’re sure we missed some. If we did, please send us an email at info[at]citizensregenerationlobby.org.
